Mr. & Mrs. Shorey | Indianapolis Summer Wedding | Indianapolis Wedding Photographer

These high school sweet hearts faced heavy rains, storms, and even tornados on their wedding day. However, from the smiles on their faces, you would never have guessed it! One of our favorite ways that couples prepare for rainy wedding days is to be sure to have clear umbrellas along for photos. These simple little pieces can help you face rain on your wedding day with smiles and open arms instead of worrying that it will effect the whole day.

We were so lucky that the clouds parted at the perfect time for us to rush outside and grab wedding party photos in the sunshine before the rain started back up again.

We’ve faced rainy wedding days many times in the last few years and our best advice, honestly, is just to embrace it. The Midwest always throws random weather our way, and if you embrace whatever is thrown your way it will make for a beautiful, memorable day. Plus, we’ve learned how to work with the time we are gifted by the weather - we promise to make the most of those 5-25 minutes where the rain stops and the clouds part!
