Newfields Proposal and Engagement Session | Indianapolis Wedding Photographer

In early April we got a call from Evan. He had a dream and a plan.

He wanted to not just propose to the love of his life, Anna, but he also wanted to completely surprise her with

1) the proposal

2) her parents flying in to celebrate with them

3) her grandma being there to celebrate as well

4) AND catch the whole thing on camera

Essentially, we were extremely impressed with his thoughtfulness but also ecstatic to tell this incredible piece of their story.

On the day it was all planned for, we showed up to Newfields in Indianapolis to set up our cameras to catch the special moment. Not surprisingly, since it’s Indiana and spring time, the forecast had 100% chance of rain for most of the day. A little rain wouldn’t sway Evan, though! He bought the perfect, clear Kate Spade umbrella with the quote “Love is in the air” on it.

The moment we had all been waiting for was approaching – and I kid you not – the rain just stopped. The proposal went perfectly as planned, surprising Anna and getting a big and happy “YES” for Evan! One of my favorite moments of the day was when Anna’s parents came out to surprise her and celebrate with them…but it’s also tied with my other favorite moment when Anna realized her grandma was there to celebrate as well.

This day was magical and we can’t wait to capture their wedding film in Colorado this fall!
