I still remember when Annette reached out. Her and Matt were ready to tie the knot and had a pretty solid plan. They didn’t want to have a big wedding because their friend group already had a lot of weddings happening in 2020 and they didn’t want their friends to worry about finding time to travel for another wedding.
But, they were ready to get married.
An elopement seemed perfect to them: a small, intimate gathering with family.
So, on Valentine’s Day our small group (11 people, including me!) met at the Indiana Memorial Union to celebrate Matt & Annette say their “I Do’s”. After the ceremony we walked around part of campus and even had a chance to get some Sample Gates photos AND photos with their pup, Yogi.
Little did I know that 2020 had a wild ride in store for us all. Typically we capture very large weddings throughout the year and have 1-2 more intimate weddings like Annette & Matt’s. Little did we know then that their elopement was about to kick-off a year of intimate weddings due to the pandemic changing so many wedding plans.
For anyone who is facing changing their plans, just know that intimate weddings are such a great way to celebrate your wedding day. Sure, you won’t have a dance floor packed with people, but you will have so much quality time with the people closest to you.
