When looking through Hannah and Mitch’s wedding day, you’ll see some of the happiest, joy filled moments you could imagine on a wedding day. What you won’t see is all of the unknowns, work, and challenges this couple faced because of COVID-19. From facing decision like “should we cancel?”, “should we move the date?”, “should we decrease the guest count?”, this couple faced it all.
At the end of the day, they decided the best path for them was to decrease their guest size and have an intimate wedding of family and their wedding party. As a past bride, I can’t even imagine the challenge they had to sift through. We had a big guest list and I can’t even imagine the process of taking our 250 person list down to <50 people. We have so much admiration for our COVID-19 couples. These COVID-19 couples have such a special place in our hearts. They have faced so much adversity and taken it on with such grace.
It was really important to us to make sure that Hannah & Mitch got everything they could’ve hoped for on wedding day. As always, we worked with Hannah to nail down the perfect day-of timeline to make sure we captured all of the info we needed to get all of their special details. The day started in downtown Fort Wayne for getting ready photos before heading to Decatur for the ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They chose a traditional approach to the ceremony and the moment Mitch saw Hannah for the first time, as she walked down the aisle, was so heartfelt. After the ceremony, we travelled around to some of Hannah & Mitch’s favorite spots where they had an impromptu first dance at a local 4th of July festival and some ice cream so celebrate with their wedding party. The night ended at their reception in New Haven, Indiana where they had their intimate reception.
This weekend was extra special for us, as well. We were able to visit Adam’s grandpa on Sunday before heading back to Columbus. We hadn’t yet had the chance to introduce Charlie to his great-grandpa because of COVID-19. It was so special to get to meet up with Adam’s grandpa in nice little park so that he could see Charlie for the first time!
